Naruto 606: Dream World
This chapter confirms that Kishimoto sensei is a fan of the Matrix. More of the Moon's Eye plan is revealed, which is basically plug everyone into lala land where everyone is awesome and loves one another YAY! Meanwhile the machines harvest the bio ener....oops :P
The mystery behind Black Zetsu and the white Zetsu's is further explained, though the explanation for the former is pretty lame.
Lastly, the ownership claim towards Nagato's rinnegan by Madara is revealed, but it's getting pretty ridiculous how eyes get passed around so willy nilly even for a manga.
Bleach 512: Everything but the Rain
BANKAI! Did you yell out too? The #1 substitute shinigami officially joins in on the fun!...Is what I'd like to say :(
Unfortunately we'll have to wait til next week for some action. Even worse is we'll have to spend that time mourning the death of more fav characters.
Another weirdo Stern Ritter introduces himself. And Ichigo flashily confronts da boss. Boring chapter otherwise.
One Piece 685: Momonosuke is my name!!
One Piece returns to it's hilarious awesomeness this week. A much needed recovery from last week's text filled diarrhea chapter.
As per the title, Kinemon's son was the focus of the chapter. And I'm sure many OP fans will agree with me that the kid MUST be part of the Straw Hats. His dad is awesome, but the kid is on a whole other level of ridiculousness (As Luffy would agree). Better yet, both father and son should join since they serve 2 important roles: wardrobe and transportation.
Easily the best manga chapter of the week for me.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn! 406: What Will Be of the Curse
Thus comes the conclusion of the Rainbow Curse arc, and what is most certainly the penultimate chapter of this dwindling series. The only thing left is for Tsuna to officially take on the mantle of the Vongola family head (which was previously disrupted by the Shimon family).
I don't see how this series can continue on considering many of the missing plot holes have now been filled and every one is copacetic. But we'll probably be treated with a glimpse into the future to see what each character is up to, along with the resolution of any relationships they've developed, so look forward to that.
Gantz 372: Where the Missing Mass Goes
If you don't know what Gantz is about, well (in a nutshell) it's about people that have died being brought back to life by a mysterious black sphere that provides them far advanced weapons and strength enhancing black suits/armor. With these they must seek and destroy alien targets (unbeknownst to normal people) in order to gain points to trade in for stronger weapons or to earn their freedom from the game. But it turns out this "game" was in fact a training system to prepare Earth's defense for an impending invasion of giant alien assholes looking to harvest resources and human sized fish sticks. And in a strange twist, it turns out a race of omnipotent aliens sent Earth the tech (black spheres/weapons/suits) after they themselves thwarted the giant aliens' invasion.
Again, this is only a basic summary and there's much more to this series so give it a read if you're a fan of bloody action and gratuitous nudity.
Anyways, Gantz is inevitably winding down. Oku sensei is apparently phoning it in, because this chapter was completely weak in story telling.
Grams of data...Really? What's stupid is Kei inexplicably forces his own deaath for the sake of being with his former fling Reika. But wait, this Kei (remember there were 2 of them) is totally in love with Tae chan, as all the previous chapters point to. What's even more comical is that in Buddhist-like fashion, their souls/data will be reincarnated later on while maintaining loose relationships between one another. Reika, Kei, and Kishimoto Kei (bit titty red head) will be part of one happy family. WTF?
Finally, all the remaining Gantz forces must now figure out how to get home.
