It's officially times to gets yo manga on!
Check them out @ mangainn.com
Naruto 606: Dream World
This chapter confirms that Kishimoto sensei is a fan of the Matrix. More of the Moon's Eye plan is revealed, which is basically plug everyone into lala land where everyone is awesome and loves one another YAY! Meanwhile the machines harvest the bio ener....oops :P
The mystery behind Black Zetsu and the white Zetsu's is further explained, though the explanation for the former is pretty lame.
Lastly, the ownership claim towards Nagato's rinnegan by Madara is revealed, but it's getting pretty ridiculous how eyes get passed around so willy nilly even for a manga.
Bleach 512: Everything but the Rain
BANKAI! Did you yell out too? The #1 substitute shinigami officially joins in on the fun!...Is what I'd like to say :(
Unfortunately we'll have to wait til next week for some action. Even worse is we'll have to spend that time mourning the death of more fav characters.
Another weirdo Stern Ritter introduces himself. And Ichigo flashily confronts da boss. Boring chapter otherwise.
One Piece 685: Momonosuke is my name!!
One Piece returns to it's hilarious awesomeness this week. A much needed recovery from last week's text filled diarrhea chapter.
As per the title, Kinemon's son was the focus of the chapter. And I'm sure many OP fans will agree with me that the kid MUST be part of the Straw Hats. His dad is awesome, but the kid is on a whole other level of ridiculousness (As Luffy would agree). Better yet, both father and son should join since they serve 2 important roles: wardrobe and transportation.
Easily the best manga chapter of the week for me.
Katekyo Hitman Reborn! 406: What Will Be of the Curse
Thus comes the conclusion of the Rainbow Curse arc, and what is most certainly the penultimate chapter of this dwindling series. The only thing left is for Tsuna to officially take on the mantle of the Vongola family head (which was previously disrupted by the Shimon family).
I don't see how this series can continue on considering many of the missing plot holes have now been filled and every one is copacetic. But we'll probably be treated with a glimpse into the future to see what each character is up to, along with the resolution of any relationships they've developed, so look forward to that.
Gantz 372: Where the Missing Mass Goes
If you don't know what Gantz is about, well (in a nutshell) it's about people that have died being brought back to life by a mysterious black sphere that provides them far advanced weapons and strength enhancing black suits/armor. With these they must seek and destroy alien targets (unbeknownst to normal people) in order to gain points to trade in for stronger weapons or to earn their freedom from the game. But it turns out this "game" was in fact a training system to prepare Earth's defense for an impending invasion of giant alien assholes looking to harvest resources and human sized fish sticks. And in a strange twist, it turns out a race of omnipotent aliens sent Earth the tech (black spheres/weapons/suits) after they themselves thwarted the giant aliens' invasion.
Again, this is only a basic summary and there's much more to this series so give it a read if you're a fan of bloody action and gratuitous nudity.
Anyways, Gantz is inevitably winding down. Oku sensei is apparently phoning it in, because this chapter was completely weak in story telling.
Grams of data...Really? What's stupid is Kei inexplicably forces his own deaath for the sake of being with his former fling Reika. But wait, this Kei (remember there were 2 of them) is totally in love with Tae chan, as all the previous chapters point to. What's even more comical is that in Buddhist-like fashion, their souls/data will be reincarnated later on while maintaining loose relationships between one another. Reika, Kei, and Kishimoto Kei (bit titty red head) will be part of one happy family. WTF?
Finally, all the remaining Gantz forces must now figure out how to get home.

LeBron James X Marvel X ESPN = King of the Rings
LeBron James officially has a comic book...Just wow! It wasn't too long ago when he was one of the most hated athletes in sports. I don't like him, but I have to respect his monster skills. Though he'll always be -1 in my book for taking the easy route.
So click on the image below to go read it because it's actually pretty funny!
Such an event deserves a JACKIE CHAN FACE! WUTT?
And a comic version of JACKIE CHAN FACE! WUTT UP?

Full Anderson Silva vs Stephan Bonnar VIDEO
If you didn't get to see last night's UFC main event, here's the full fight video!
It's in Portuguese I think, but fighting is it's own language :P
So enjoy it before Zuffa takes the video down!
This is not a fight blog, I'm just a huge Silva fan and thought others might enjoy the video (WHICH I didn't upload, so complain to Youtube)

Silva vs Bonnar wallpaper
I'm so excited for UFC 153 this Saturday so I mocked up a simple wallpaper using adobe illustrator and photoshop. I didn't spend a lot of time on it so it's understandably sloppy. I really hope the American Psycho and the Spider put on a show!
October wk 2 - Manga updates!
The latest chapters of the Fab Five of Shonen Jump was officially scanlated earlier this week, so here's my brief review of what went down!
Naruto 605: Hell
This chapter was likely the darkest chapter of Naruto thus far. Obito goes on a blood thirsty rampage after witnessing his best friend taking out (literally) the girl he's always loved. Interestingly, Obito's sharingran goes from the initial 2-tomoe form right to his MS form. Unbeknownst to Kakashi, he actually experienced his eye going MS that very day. It's quite likely that Kakashi never actually unlocked the MS/Kamui ability by himself during the time skip. Tobi/Obito only officially took a major role in the story post-time skip, which explains how Kakashi's eye developed as their link likely grew stronger.
Anyhoo, this chapter was chock full of bloody goodness (about time mokuton was shown to be deadly)! Can't wait for it to be animated *drools
Bleach 511: Death Whilst Standing
After last week's disappointing hax copycat reasoning behind Yuha Bach's arrival, I expected Kubo sensei to restore my faith. As has been the trend of this series, all events will ultimately lead towards Ichigo duking it out with the protagonist at the time. So it's to be expected that Yamamoto taichou was indeed going to be punked out this week. FUCK!
New historical account is given regarding the origins of the 13 divisions, as well as the mysterious division 0 that scare even these uber powered German quincy assholes.
And finally, has Ichigo FINALLY reached soul society?
One Piece 684: Stop It, Vegapunk
The battle between Vergo and Smoker commences! We get a taste of their powers and it seems the mysterious Vergo is a master of Armament Haki, so it's going to be tough for even ol' Smokey. Sanji is the only Straw Hat featured in this chapter, but it was hilarious enough to see his growing kinship with the Tashigi-chan fan club. There was a little too much dialogue in this chapter as Caesar provides a step-by-step map breakdown. BORING!!!
Caesar caps the chapter of with an emotionally charged "account" of the lead up to the explosion on the island 4 years ago.

Katekyo Hitman Reborn! 405: The Past and Future of Trini Sette
In the last chapter, we all got punked after Checker face revealed himself to be Kawahira san. The seemingly harmless shop owner and noodle lover from the future. His true identity/purpose as well as the Trini Sette (pacifiers, Vongola, Mare rings) seemed a little too "simple" for my liking. This series seems to be rushing towards its end. Tsuna reveals his gambit to save Reborn, which makes no sense since nobody really knew about the nature of the flame of night until everybody got their asses kicked by Jager.
Beelzebub 176: The Season's Already Winter
Furuichi prostrates himself infront of his peers and everything is hashed out. After all the fighting and reminiscing, Oga and Furuchin are closer than ever. The magical tissues are returned, but only after a longing hesitance from Furuichi. I'll bet these tissues (or residual side effects) will make a cameo later on.
Fast forward, and the chapter takes on a lighter tone with the holiday season. A little confusing since it's still October right now. But the highlight of this chapter comes at the end when Hilda's amnesic side returns!
Here's a little meme I made (mememaker.net) for Obito as Naruto was by far the most interesting chapter this week
Tobi = Obito Trollface! |

Bleach 510 Released!
Check it out @ mangainn
Bleach 510: Extinction
I have to say I'm a little upset about this hax, lame explanation, but I suppose it was to be expected. Seems Yamamoto was too preocupied with trying to break the supposed Yuha Bach's will to notice how weak the guy was. Kubo sensei seriously bitch slapped us all. Bach is a badass! And even Aizen made a cameo. Though I'm not too worried since the hogyoku keeps him immortal.
This chapter confirms that Ichigo will indeed get his clash with the invading Sternritter's. I believe his bankai can't be stolen because it's infused with his hollow self. I am praying that Ichigo's vizard/final getsuga tenshou form comes back because that seems like the only way he can take everybody out single-handedly.
Dexter Season 7 Ep 1 Review
So based on most of my posts on this board, it's apparent that I've been watching too many kids shows (Pokemon/Transformers is strangely addicting). So I finally got to watching the season premier of Dexter! HBO is for rich people, ProjectFreeTV is where it's at!
If you're unfamiliar with Dexter, it's a show about Dexter Morgan, a highly competent blood spatter analyst working for the Miami Metro Homicide division while moonlighting as a serial killer of other murderers. Stemming from his past, Dexter struggles to contain his dark passenger by taking life, while at the same time absolving his corrupt morality by targeting those who had it coming. In order to blend in and carry on with his desires, Dexter surrounds himself with carefully crafted facades to fool everyone around him, including his sister Debra and himself.
If you're a Dexter fanatic like myself, you've been gnawing at the bit to see what happens after the proverbial cat comes out of the closet, is wrapped in plastic, and murdered on Dexter's ritualistic alter.
The story telling is superb in the premier. Writers have confirmed that Dexter will end after season 8, so the beginning of the end is nearing so I'm glad the writers are doing Dexter justice and bringing their A-game.
The episode begins with Dexter quickly spinning a web of lies around Debra. Dexter has always been a good liar, but the whole set-up is just too "weird" and Debra is quick to point out inconsistencies. In unscrupulous fashion, Dexter plays the son card (Harrison) to get Debra to go along for now.
Louis makes an appearance early on, and it's evident that he's getting on Dexter's nerves. It's still unclear what Louis' relationship to Dexter is, but considering he obsessed with the mannequin hand of the "Ice Truck Killer" and had it care packaged to Dexter, we can assume he knows of the serial killer brothers.
With his sister bearing down on him, Dexter falls back to his old ways to regain some solace and control. Seriously Dex? In an international airport no less? This was the only fault to the episode as it screams of Dexter wanting to be caught.
Laguerta makes a discovery that seems to be leading her down the path of clearing her old colleague Sgt. Doakes' name. About time she do something other than being a bitch.
In the end, Dexter's lies were too much to handle and Debra confronts her brother in complete soul piercing lucidity for the genuine first time.
"Are you a...?"
Side note, I'm so impressed with Jennifer Carpenter's acting this episode. Her character has made huge strides over the past couple seasons. Part of that was by the writers' design, but her acting ability has become top notch and now she can truly stand on the same footing as her ex-husband Michael Hall. Carpenter has also gotten hotter! Far cry from her terrible performance in Quarantine yuck

Pokemon Season 2 (Orange Islands) Review
To start, unlike my previous reviews where I rank the animation/ music/ characters/ storyline, this review will be shorter and focus in on highs/lows. So here goes!
For those unfamiliar with the Orange Islands in the Pokemon world, they're a chain of islands only in the anime and the Electric Tail of Pikachu manga.
Right off the bat, young male fans finally get a healthy dose of fan service in the ultra-sexy Professor Ivy. A much needed reprieve from settling for Misty and Jesse all season.
+1 High / -0 Low
Holy shit Ivy is smoking hot! The Japanese animators just wanted to thank their young male fan base, so they gave us another big breasted beauty! Cue Prima (or Lorelei)!
I'm suppose to watch this without getting a boner?! |
Misty: "Did those hurt?" |
+2 High / -0
So to replace our favorite loverboy, we get Tracy Sketchit who likes like a hippy lacrosse player. Apparently the Pokemon writers wanted to avoid complaints about Jap/Asian stereotypes of Brock (his trademark slit eyes) so they made up an anglo-saxon looking mofo to replace him. Nobody cared, so they brought Brock (that's hard to say) back at the end!
+2 / -1 Low
So in order to travel between islands Ash found himself a new pokemon. Sadly, Ash only caught 2 pokemon in total in the islands. But we do get to see Ash mend his relationship with Charizard. Seismic toss FTW! It's a wash.
+3 / -2
The gym battles were...Interesting. Instead of full on battles at gyms with only 1 type of pokemon, there were mini-skill competitions like target shooting and canoe making. If we were lucky there was a battle thrown in. My biggest gripe was with the Navel island gym leader, Danny. Apparently it's a pre-requisite to climb a giant fucking mountain side without a safety harnesses or pokemon assistance in order to challenge the gym.
Awesome policy! Kill all your challengers (or disqualify the cheats) so you can jack off all day and do nothing. And even if they do challenge, they'll still have to survive the death sled ride on an ICE CANOE down the mountain side.
+3 / -3
For the most part, the battles throughout the season were enjoyable. Charizard got owned, Golduck PWNED, and we got our first official double battle of the series!
+4 / -3
Finally, Ash only needed 4 badges to compete in the Orange Island league. Understandable since the season was considerably shorter than the first. Funny note, when Ash gets his badges verified at the end, the official uses a scanner. Ummm, sea shell badges have barcodes? Fail.
But the bigger fail is that Ash is immediately able to challenge the league champion Drake for the Champion's cup. And given that they hold the battle in a Roman colosseum, these champion battles don't happen often. But what's from stopping another trainer to arrive with 4 badges and challenge Drake the day after Ash's battle?
Back on track, the end battle is truly epic. Only issue is Ash once again got a hax win with a never before used pokemon. But Drake's Dragonite was worth it.
+5 / -3
There's definitely a lot I failed to mention from the season in this review, but based on overall more highs than lows, I highly recommend fans to continue on from season 1. If you can't find the DVD, download the torrent here!
Ash finally gets some tit! See ya Misty ;p |
